Police are appealing for information after 12 cars were keyed in Sandhurst Road in Gloucester during one night last weekend.
Some time late on Saturday May 12 or the early hours of Sunday May 13 unknown offenders used a sharp implement to cut deep scratches into the paintwork of the door and body panels of each vehicle.
The cars ranged from a Ford Ka to an Alfa Romeo 147 and hundreds of pounds worth of damage was caused.
Local residents believe the damage may have been carried out by people walking in and out of the city centre under the influence of alcohol.
PC Steve Crown, beat officer for the Kingsholm area, said: “We deplore this kind of mindless vandalism, causing unnecessary inconvenience and costs to those affected.
“My colleagues and I are looking at a number of ways to address this issue, and will hopefully identify the culprits and bring them to justice.
“I would ask that if anyone has any information or knows who may be responsible for this vandalism to call us on 101, quoting incident 135 of May 20.
“Information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org. In some cases Crimestoppers offer rewards of up to £1000 where information leads to a conviction.”
